Shelby Habing, Esq.
Shelby Habing joined the Berg Bryant team in June 2022. In 2013, she graduated from Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida, where she was a student in the International Baccalaureate program. She completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of North Florida (UNF), graduating with a Bachelor of Health Administration in 2017.
Taking several healthcare and law-based classes at UNF, coupled with exposure to challenges her grandparents were facing, instilled in Shelby a desire to help others understand and appreciate the importance of proper planning for aging and changing healthcare needs.
In 2018, with the encouragement and support of family and friends, she began her legal studies at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. During her career at Stetson, she thoroughly enjoyed estate planning classes and was involved in the Thomas E. Penick, Jr. American Inn of Court, the Elder Law Society, and was an extern in the guardianship division of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She also met her husband, Craig, at Stetson, and together they enjoyed participating in intramural soccer and running club after school. Shelby earned her Juris Doctor in May 2021 and became a licensed Florida attorney the following October.
She proudly comes from a military-rich family: her grandfathers served in the United States Army and Navy, her parents are Army veterans, her husband, Craig is a Marine Corps veteran, and her brother is currently serving in the Army. Because of her family, she is extremely passionate about giving back to those who have served and was honored to participate in one of Stetson’s pro bono events, “Wills for Warriors,” where she assisted with drafting and executing simple estate planning documents for low-income veterans and their spouses.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her miniature poodle, Rogi, reading the latest John Grisham novel, and swimming.
